  • Holistic approach encompassing Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Applicable Mathematics.
  • Vital balance between Algebra, Geometry, Analysis, Computational Mathematics and Applications of Mathematics.
  • Syllabus as per UGC guidelines, compatible with UGC-CSIR NET, within the frame work of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).
  • Specially designed optional/elective courses at M.Sc./M. Phil:
    • Problems and Exercises in Mathematics (For talented students preparing for a career in Higher Mathematics; aiming at providing a training for problem solving in Mathematics and for NET/SLET)
    • Research Level Advanced Courses in Functional Analysis, Banach Algebras and Operator Theory, Operator Algebras, Relativity and Cosmology, Geometry
    • Courses on Computational Mathematics like
      •       Computer Programming in C/C++
      •       Use of Mathematical Software like Mathematica, MatLab and MACSYMA etc.
    • Financial Mathematics.
    • Stochastic Analysis
    • Mathematics Education (a course aimed at students preparing for a teaching career).
    • Courses in Mathematical Foundations of Theoretical Sciences like Classical Mechanics, Relativity and Cosmology, Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics, Fluid Dynamics.
    • Mathematical Modelling and Mathematical Methods.
    • Provision for Dissertation (200 Marks) at M.Sc. Semester-IV.
